Me and friend went to the Club on late Friday 2 Nov. it was closed. What kind of sh#@ is that. Oh well.

As others have said, this is less a Sauna and more a brothel. However, for out-of-towners, this is a safer option than inviting a stranger to your hotel. It's Brazil, so of course the guys are beautiful, and there are many looks from which you can choose. Just treat the experience as a business transaction and you can have an hour with the boy of your choice for about R$50 if you bargain well. Drinks are expensive, as expected, but you can watch a good drag show some nights if that interests you. I'm a young, attractive guy from the US with a good body. Unfortunately I didn't really meet anyone at clubs and bars in Rio and was told about Club 117 by some friends in the US. I've always had bad experiences in the few saunas I've been to but boy was this different. The guys there are some of the most beautiful and perfect specimen of men I've ever seen. White, latino, black, lean to really muscular, all with big dicks. The downside is that every single guy who is attractive there is for sale, not just there for fun. Basically the working boys outnumber the regular costumers by a lot and the regular customers are almost exclusively older guys. So don't plan on going there if you don't want to pay. Obviously Clube 117 is above all a brothel, with boys galore. That's what people go there for. There are more boys than customers! But you do have a good sauna and you can chat about economics, opera or travels with the other costumers. Absolutely safe. My only complaint is that some of the boys are overstaying their welcome (getting old and fat) and I would certainly like to have more ethnic and body types variety.

Heaven on earth! 50 or 60 reais for the guy of your dreams. It's nearly impossible to choose between one of them, even when you skip all the plastic muscle boys. Speaking a few words of portugese is recommended. Been there 6 times over the last 2 years and this summer I'll be back!

Had heard so much about this place, couldn't wait to try it. Tuesday is their specials day--all room rentals are free, and that draws a big crowd. Too big. The place was jammed: every hallway, every room, every locker room--people everywhere.

I don't think Club 117 can be classified as a gay sauna, but more as a place (club?) where men with an interest in their own sex may go and meet young men or simply have a drink and watch a show. Being myself a married man and not used to the gay scene, I was pretty nervous when I entered the place, but soon felt at ease. There were middle-aged men relaxing and talking among themselves in the bar and a large number of boys hanging around, dressed with a white towel and showing their athletic torsos. Some were irresistible. I had a beer with one of them, and we went to a room the club provides for their patrons. A small but convenient room woth a round bed and a (tiny) bathroom. The boy was phisically gorgeous, gentle and masculine. That night I left Club 117 walking on clouds... with the boy's cellphone number in my agenda. The bill was 35 reais for the admission fee (no room charge the day I went, a Wednesday), 5 reais for the beer and 100 reais for the boy.
