Hummel Hummel

I should have mentioned that Hummel Hummel has only a tiny urinal and no proper loo.....O Seven has MODERN loos. I was unable to create a listing for O Seven. There should be one...much of the earlier Hummel Hummel clientele now uses O Seven. The staff at H H is the same as it has been for years apart from the loss of the English guy, Glynn. I was unable to correct a couple of 'typos' in my message of 15mins ago!

The new bar that replaced two thirds of the earlier Hummel Hummel is called '0 Seven'.
It is FAR tter than the old Hummel Hummel with great staff, decent seating, free 'nibbles' with drinks, a modest 'porn' TV room with a much better dark-room leding off from the far left hand corner. It has GOOD, clean loos! A GREAT improvement on Hummel Hummel as was. Hummel Hummel itself now has the small 'Old Man's TV 'room' with its tiny, dirty, smelly dark-room that is permanently occupied by the same old 'suspects'! They seem to regard it as their second home.

hoping to go gran canaria soon -hummel hummel has changed so ive heard -was a big bar -now only a third the size and another bar in bigger part -only one dark rm in hummel -dont have info about bigger bar nxt door - friend was there in nov and said both bars v.busy -itll be totally different but change happens ill give it a try

Ive been using Hummel Hummel since 2001 - was there in march just after carnival it wasnt busy at all maybe just for an hr busy -deserted after 11.30 - all drift off to other bars -nvr used back rms there- but bar had a sad vibe about it - some didnt buy drinks and some just drank a little - times change few yrs ago bar was packed everynight - certainly till midnight later if they had strippers -nothing stays the same and ill give it a try when nxt there but not over optimistic ill like it - not another bar like it really -

I've been visiting Hummel Hummel for 15 years and I always had major rows with Calixto. This is part of his charm and it would be boring without Him.

The large right side of Hummel Hummel is closed and the location is up for rent. It will not open again.

The smallish left side of Hummel Hummel bar has re-opened 3rd May.
Aparently being taken over by the 2 Spanish waiters Calisto and the other tall guy. On their night of the opening, they already had a major row with a guest who walked in and apparently did not order a drink immediately. It was a most pathetic scene organised by the barmen, especially for the first opening night - when they should have welcomed everyone back.

The cruising factor has dropped to zero. The place is no good since the toilet-darkroom is right behind the bar and is fully policed by the waiters.
Which makes the elderly gentlemen, who used to have a little bit of fun in the larger darkroom, very selfconscious about going in.
The place is now very boring.

Give it a miss, it is not worth it. At the moment, there are no decent bars where elderly men can have a little bit of fun.
A real loss Playa del Ingles, because most people do not only go for a drink (can have that at home, thank you) - but for a grope and a bit of excitement.

Terrible place....the waiters are rude, and they don't even serve irish coffea after 11 pm....
