Gay Azerbaijan travel guide

We list Azerbaijan here in Asia, but it is half Europe half Asia. This is a bit a crazy country. When it was part of the former Soviet Union, their oil went to Russia. Now it's an independent country and they don't know what to do with the money. So they are building very prestigious buildings, like middle eastern oil countries. 

The government get a lot of critics for good reasons. But one good thing is that a lot of the money is spend on really stunning buildings. The old town is restored to it's former glory and is really like an old fairytale. 

Gay night life in Azerbaijan is only underground. When Azerbaijan organized the Eurovision Song Contest, for some weeks they had their first gay club. Unfortunately the club was closed again just weeks after the contest. Now there are other unofficial gay places.
