Albufeira gay travel guide
Albufeira is a beach city in the Algarve in South of Portugal. Albufeira is a very popular tourist destination. The city is not very big but the amount of restaurants, bars and clubs is enormous.
The old part of the city has a nice southern ambiance, with many local restaurants and bar (and a lot of tourists). The new part of town is blocks of hotels and resorts, and features "The Strip", a 1 kilometer long road of large bars and clubs. Every bar tries to have their music a little louder than the neighbours.
Every summer many Portuguese gay guys come to Algarve to work in the tourist industry and enjoy the beaches when inland is getting too hot.
We wouldn't classify Albufeira as a typical gay destination, but because of it's scale enough gay guys visit here to have about 2 gay bars.
