What is it?

One of Melbourne's oldest gay bars, recently updated its door policy to favor gay men. (Women can expect to queue for half an hour, even if the venue is quiet). Also currently seeing an evolution music wise - expect top 40 and retro hits, plenty to sing to, but not a lot of club tracks.
Thursday nights sees a younger, twinky crowd, and picks up from 1am. Friday and Saturdays tend to pack out after other venues close - all roads lead to the Peel, as the advertising says! Has a 24/7 license, so closing times are approximate, if they're busy they stay open later, although entry is not guaranteed late at night. Shows before midnight on Saturdays.

The security need to be replaced. They let my off his face boyfriend in without any I.d and yet wouldn't let my friend and I in to find him because our heels were not "high enough". That's b.s. Disgusting.
Would prefer a zero star rating.

The Peel is one of the last remaining "Gay" places in Melbourne that is not a sauna. Good safe respectful place for gay men to go and have a good night out without fag hags, straights, hangers on.

The complaining review is from a women. That says it all and why the peel patrons do not want her there.

Thank god security kept her out.

There are thousands of pubs and hundreds of clubs for women and straights - go some where else Liz.
