London gay bar and club guide

London gay bars and club guide

Gay London

London is one of the most diverse cities in Europe, and its gay nightlife reflects that energy. From relaxed bars in Soho to packed clubs in Vauxhall, the city offers a wide range of options. Early evenings often start with drinks in central London, while the real party continues late in the clubs south of the river. Cruise bars and saunas provide more adventurous nights. Regular events, from Pride to weekend parties, add to the scene. Distances in London are bigger than in other European gay destinations, so planning ahead saves time and keeps your night flowing.

Gay bars and Pubs in London

London has tons of gay and lesbians bars, spread all over town. Each area has it's own local gay bars. Here we list mostly the venues in Soho and Vauxhall which are most interesting for guys and girls visiting. In the old days bars and pubs had to close very early in the UK. Those times are no more, however still many places have to close before midnight due to their local license. On Sundays most places still close around 11, with only few exceptions. The London boys still go out very early in the evening, very different from south European countries.

The bar gets busiest on weekends, when the party vibe takes over and the dance floor fills up. Drinks are reasonably priced for central London, with happy hours adding to the draw. Circa is a good spot to start or end your night.

Outdoor Gay Beaches and Parks

Despite being inland, Londoners still find ways to enjoy summer outdoors. The city itself doesn’t have official gay beaches, but nearby coastal spots are popular when the weather allows. Brighton, less than an hour by train, is the favorite day trip for sun, sea and a strong gay scene.

Gay Events

The London gay calendar is packed with events. Pride in July is the biggest, drawing huge crowds and a full weekend of parties. Other highlights include themed club nights, fetish weekends and cultural festivals. Whatever your interest, chances are the city has something on offer during your visit.
