Where to stay?
To experience Fes at it's best take a riad in the old Medina. The Medina is the old city, surrounded by walls. There are many small streets, many not accessible by car.
A riad is an old city palace, with rooms around an indoor garden. Many are now restored to their former glory and serve as hotels and restaurants.
If this is too much excitement you can find a hotel in the new city.
