BrightonGay Nightlife

Gay Brighton

Brighton is often described as the gay capital of the UK, and its nightlife lives up to the name. The heart of the scene is in Kemp Town, with St James’s Street lined with bars, pubs and clubs that stay lively all week. Everything is compact and walkable, which makes bar hopping easy. The atmosphere is relaxed, fun and social, attracting both locals and visitors from across the country. Nights often start with terrace drinks and end on packed dance floors or in after-hours spots. With its mix of beachside charm and buzzing energy, Brighton’s gay nightlife is unique.

Gay Bars

Brighton’s gay bars are mostly found in Kemp Town, especially around St James’s Street. Expect busy terraces, friendly pubs and cocktail spots that stay lively from early evening until late. Everything is close together, so you can easily move between venues without missing the fun atmosphere on the streets.

R-Bar is located next door to Revenge, R-Bar serves as the ideal pre-club bar, with discount entry tickets available. On weekend nights when Revenge closes, R-Bar remains open and becomes the perfect post-club chill-out venue: cosy couches, food for munchy attacks, tea, coffee, drinks.
