And @ Mr Mud, Mr Jay is I think spot on with his review. And I don't know how many steam rooms you have visited, but from the ones I visited in the Netherlands, Germany, UK, Spain, Denmark, Switzerland and more, the most impressive ones were in Switzerland (Lausanne Pink Beach is large and very stylish, and the two sauna's in Zürich have by far the best equipped I have ever encountered). For Greek standards (bear in mind that the Greek are very poor) this sauna is pretty ok, and the are lots of local guys around, but it is nothing near the trend setting quality of Phoenix Germany, Steamworks Arnhem, Pink Beach Lausanne and Reno Relax Sauna in Zürich. And yes, it's clean, busy, but of poor quality, dark and there is not much logic about the way it's decorated and designed and therefore over all floors confusing.

The place is very dark and could use a renovation. But nevertheless I must admit that I was surprised by its cleanness. And even more surprised about the young hot crowd and the friendly staff. Lots of cabins with mirror walls and adjustable light. Also private cabins for rent. And those are airconditioned so you can really put some effort in the sex without drying out completely. So in short, forget about luxury and tasteful style, but expect lots of horny guys, a special area with theme nights (E.g. naked, youngsters in sportswear 18-30, bear night, underwear, etc) and, if you do not like to climb stairs across 4 floors, a elevator for your convenience. I've not seen the other sauna's in Athene - but we (my friend and I) have already decided to go back here tonight.

This sauna is one of the two excellent saunas of Athens. Nice guys, nice staff, great facilities, very clean. A real european sauna. I recommend it.

Visited the club on Sunday October 9, 2011. the place was very clean despite the heavy rain, welcomed at the door, staff very friendly and been there for the first time a sfaff member showed me the around the areas at the different floors etc. Even though it was early in the evening, the place was fairly crowded. Nice people all around, polite and easy to talk to. Had a great time. Had visited two other baths in the area, this was by far the BEST in all counts. I recommended to all that visit Athens. Being from Canada have visited many bath houses in USA and Canada. Alexander is close to the standards of the american bath houses. Thanks for the good time, and see you soon . Cheers

I visited the Alexander Sauna in Athens in mid Nov 2010, early on a Friday evening around 7pm. The place was virtually empty. Upon entering the building which required you to press an intercom system, (which felt a little like a back-street members only strip club) the entrance staff were friendly and helpful. I was asked to pay 15euros to enter with the offer of a discount for a second visit of 12euros. During my visit, I saw plenty of cleaning going on. Unfortunately, there was a distinct lack of signage around the place and no obvious exit signs. It was a case of suck it and see for yourself, (no pun intended). Any information in leaflet form or displayed on walls was solely in Greek, despite the international connection, it wishes to attract. Disappointingly, the main commonal glass-sided shower was out of action and customers had to use one in the steam room or elsewhere if you happened t find them, which were far too dark and with no signage. The steam room itself smelt like a toilet and nowhere near warm enough, whereas the sauna was too hot. Generally, there should be a little more lighting around the place, it is far too dark. The clientele, almost entirely Greek were less than welcoming and fairly miserable and dismissive when approached, offering no response after a simple "hi". Sitting in the steam room, it felt like there was a trail of towel clad zombies parading in, around and out. There was a lack of any sort of atmosphere in the areas on the day I attended. In my opinion, the Prison break area, (corridors of private cubicles) were far too dark and intimidating. In my opinion, it should be possible to walk around a gay sauna naked, but that seemed not to be case and frowned upon by clientelle, possibly because of the Greek reserved nature, unlike other parts of Europe. The issue of a free condom, pair of slippers and a towel seemed minimal. There did not seem to be any additional supplies and no lube. The thin towel soon became wet especially in the steam room and not very welcoming for a final drying. Yes, I would return there but I think there is a lot of work to be done to raise the atmosphere of the place.
