Hotel for Alexander Sauna
What is it?
Alexander Sauna in Athens is a huge and popular gay sauna on 4 different floors. It also has it's own special relax garden.
A variety of daily theme nights: Partners Day on Monday, Bear's Nights on Tuesday, Under- Swim- and Sportswear for boys up to 30 y on Wednesday. For the theme party a special area is reserved and guarded by a door man.
Busy, cruise, popular amongst local youngsters because of the little entrance fee they pay (only 7 euro). This sauna is nothing compared to other European sauna's (like the ones in Germany, UK, the Netherlands and Switzerland for example) - but foor Greek standards it is ok. It is clean, slippers are handed out to you at the door and first timers get a tour from the friendly staff (but they have to as the infrastructure is poor and the place in general is very dark and feels like a labarinth) - you would never find the lockers on your own, if the staff did not show you where they are).write a review

Très beau sauna propres et personnels très convivial... Dommage qu'avec le ticket le choix des boissons n'est pas plus important on peux prendre une bière mais le café es payant (étrange)

i visited last nov 2014, nothing spectacular, if anything, going through 4 floors - up and down, even if there is a lift, annoys me! and it is obvious (they are just being polite) they do not really like tourists, so i got that - i was gone in 30 min. flat, as some reviewer mentioned - this is for locals - i say let them have it,

Lots of wet and dry play areas like a prison theme darkroom with a sling and the all-naked area in the basement. There's a bar that serves alcohol and a small garden for cruising. Very customer-oriented as the staff are helpful and always cleaning. Yes there are dark areas - which is why they are called "dark rooms" - but there are plenty of chances to check out the other customers in the dimly lot areas. International crowd when I was there on a Saturday with several bearded Americans in their 30s, two 40s portly Africans and one hot 20s Asian with a six-pack. Most of the crowd was Greek in their late 30s upwards with the action picking up after 2 a.m.

If you choose 1 sauna in Athens, this should be it. The others are dirty, old, and depressing. Alexander is very clean, well organised/designed place, friendly helpful staff, European quality sauna, 4 floors, central, HOT guys, especially late weekend nights after people come from the nearby clubs. They have a good deal: 2-entry pass for EUR23. I heard about rent boys, but I never saw anything when I was there. Go have fun. Its near the subway metro station Keramikos. They have a good deal: 2-entry pass for EUR23.

I´ve been there twice within 10 days (special offer) on a Monday and a Thursday when there is a special price for youngsters (I am not a youngster). But it seems that the only youngsters there on both days were the hustler boys who the only thing they have to do is sit in the lounge and sell their "massage". I don´t have anything against hustlers, but I am not willing to pay for sex (yet), so it is very annoying that you can not be sure that a boy you a flirting with is just keen on your money. It´s clear that the stuff of the Sauna can not check every young man what he is doing in the sauna, but in this etablissement they seem to help them by giving them a place and a cupboard to do their job. That´s not what I appreciate very much ...

ok, so I wen there yesterday - Saturday - (5/01/2014). I am 21 years old and at first I was very stressed. As soon as I entered the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, they showed me the space and gave me free towel, slippers and condom. I undressed, put my things in the locker and wore the towel on and had a look around. It was around 22:30. There were many people there, but of all ages. I found many youngsters around my age and then I met a gorgeous 28 year old Greek god with whom we had lots of fun... In general it was a good experience, the place was clean but the only bad thing was that it was quite dark throughout. However, I didn't feel uncomfortable at all - and I am not used to going to similar places.

Terrible place! Three young men at the door and not relaxed at all. After having something like sex, three men asked money 50 € for the sex. Not open the door for me to get out. Not before I wanted to phone police in the place, one guy opened the door and said I do not like the way you talk. Rotten place! Criminal minds! Feel so sorry for gays in Athens for such damage. Please be careful!

When compared with the other popular sauna Flex in Athens, this should be the place without thinking. Enterence price a little bir more than Flex but the place is much more better and clean. When compared with the saunas like in Germany and Netherlands, surely it is poor but I found the place clean and comfortable enough. I visited the place twice during my Athens stay. One was Thuesday night around midnight. It was not so busy but there was a hot, well built guy with whom we had a good time in steam room. My second visit was Friday night. On friday and saturday it is open till 7 am in the morning. It was very busy till around 3-4 am. And I also had good times with hot Greeks :) But I am agree with the reviews about the darkness of the place. Moreover, in steam room I prefer more lights, I want to see and pick the people arond me.

This place would be great... if it was not crowded with soon-to-be-dead people. They look decaying, they talk loud, they touch you without asking, they smell bad, and they act rude. Damn I hate them old fellows! Just because you are at the verge of death, you should not act as if you owned the place!
It’s a good thing the book of Matthew says that heaven belongs to the poor, so very soon these turdy old tourists will be in hell.
Amen to that!

And @ Mr Mud, Mr Jay is I think spot on with his review. And I don't know how many steam rooms you have visited, but from the ones I visited in the Netherlands, Germany, UK, Spain, Denmark, Switzerland and more, the most impressive ones were in Switzerland (Lausanne Pink Beach is large and very stylish, and the two sauna's in Zürich have by far the best equipped I have ever encountered). For Greek standards (bear in mind that the Greek are very poor) this sauna is pretty ok, and the are lots of local guys around, but it is nothing near the trend setting quality of Phoenix Germany, Steamworks Arnhem, Pink Beach Lausanne and Reno Relax Sauna in Zürich. And yes, it's clean, busy, but of poor quality, dark and there is not much logic about the way it's decorated and designed and therefore over all floors confusing.

The place is very dark and could use a renovation. But nevertheless I must admit that I was surprised by its cleanness. And even more surprised about the young hot crowd and the friendly staff. Lots of cabins with mirror walls and adjustable light. Also private cabins for rent. And those are airconditioned so you can really put some effort in the sex without drying out completely. So in short, forget about luxury and tasteful style, but expect lots of horny guys, a special area with theme nights (E.g. naked, youngsters in sportswear 18-30, bear night, underwear, etc) and, if you do not like to climb stairs across 4 floors, a elevator for your convenience. I've not seen the other sauna's in Athene - but we (my friend and I) have already decided to go back here tonight.

Visited the club on Sunday October 9, 2011. the place was very clean despite the heavy rain, welcomed at the door, staff very friendly and been there for the first time a sfaff member showed me the around the areas at the different floors etc.
Even though it was early in the evening, the place was fairly crowded. Nice people all around, polite and easy to talk to.
Had a great time. Had visited two other baths in the area, this was by far the BEST in all counts.
I recommended to all that visit Athens.
Being from Canada have visited many bath houses in USA and Canada.
Alexander is close to the standards of the american bath houses.
Thanks for the good time, and see you soon .
