Berlin is the rough corner of gay nightlife in Europe. It's the city of German techno, leather and fetish gear and unrestricted opening hours. It's also a city of arts and culture and creative industry.

The gay Berlin scene is individualistic, tolerant, personal freedom and the perfect place to explore some hidden fantasies.

Club Berghain is famous for the gays and str8. The techno parties in the weekend are non-stop. In the back of the building a separate club is for cruising in the large labyrinth of Lab.Oratory.

Nighttours will guide you virtually through the gay Berlin nightlife scene. We show where it is best to stay and give you some tips on what else to do during your stay.

What is the Berlin gay scene like?

Berlin is best known for its wild nightlife. The main gay area is in the district Schöneberg. The cruise and fetish bars dominate this neighbourhood. You can enter all places most of the time with casual clothing, but don't be surprised to see guys fully geared up in leather or sportswear.

Check out the list of gay cruise bars and clubs here.

Don't forget that Berlin is a very large and wide spread area. Each district has got it's own gay bars and places. The metro system U-Bahn continues driving 24h a day.

Where to stay?

Everyone seems to have his own preference on which district to stay in. Especially the ones that come more often. We, and most of our friends, always stay in Schöneberg. Walking distance from the main gay bars and clubs. And near the main shopping area.

Art culture and sights

Berlin is recognised as a world city of art and culture. It is one of the leading places in the global contemporary art scene. Giving home to thousands of artists and hundreds of galleries.

The most famous museums of Berlin are located on the Museumsinsel, an island in the Spree river and a  UNESCO World Heritage Site.

When to visit?

Berlin is good to go all year round. But winters can be hard and cold.

Berlin Pride / CSD Berlin (27 Jul 2024) is one of the biggest pride events in Europe.

The Easter Berlin Leather Fetish week is the yearly must go for fetish guys. One of the highlights (but hard to get tickets for) is the yearly Snax Club fetish party in the whole Berghain building.

The other main fetish event is Folsom Europe. The main event is the outdoor streetparty. At night several large fetish parties take place.
