London is good visiting all year long. It has many cheap airline connections to Europe mainland. So you can easily combine London with Amsterdam, Barcelona etc. There is also a high speed train directly from centre to Paris.
Which area to stay?
Best area to stay is Soho (map), which is also the centre with many restaurants, shops, theatres and the gay bars. Many of the big parties are in Vauxhall (map). However during the day this is a way less interesting area, and not many hotels available.
The main gay area has to be Soho, just west of the West End, where all theatres are located and north of China Town. In Soho also the major shopping areas like Oxford Street can be found. The main gay street is Old Compton Street, where many bars are located like the popular G-A-Y Bar for young guys, Rupert Street (around the corner), Village Soho and many more. UK venues used to be strict regulated regarding opening times. In the past all bars and pubs had to close at 11 in the evening. Still many places in Soho close early. But more and more go on till 3. On Sunday however really everything stops early. Only when you become a member at G-A-Y Late you can go on. (And of course in the clubs outside Soho)
London is one of the biggest gay party cities in the world, in the weekend you can party almost around the clock. Most big venues can be found in the Vauxhall area. Here you can find many clubs. There are many big different parties, though many of them use the same venues in different weekends.
London has a wide range of gay sauna's although some have been closed. There are also a couple of cruise clubs with sex and fetish parties. From leather guy to typical British scally boyz, you'll be sure you can have a hot time here in London.
