El Rio thinks of themselves as a mix between a bar and a community center. El Rio has two indoor spaces and an outdoor patio with heaters.
They do live (big band and acoustic) and dj music, film and art showings, comedy, drag, spoken word, jams, burlesque and fundraisers to no end.

ElRio is where the freaks and the normal people feel equally at home. Fags, Dykes, Tattoed Missionites lounge around with hard core regulars. Lots of bands and cheap drinks. I like it that they have all those benefits for queer groups too. ElRio is a great place!
