What is it?

Founded in 1997, this was Chelseas first cocktail bar. Spacy with a large bar in middle, and some comfortable relax areas behind the bar. Toilets can be cruisy. Weeknights happy hour from 16h till 21h.

g Lounge is a quintessential New York -- lots of people in a small space, expensive, but still fabulous. This lounge is a perfect starting off point for bar-hopping around Chelsea. All the boys know where it is. If you can deal with the hopelessly crowded areas around the center bar, and the stiff drink prices (this being NYC after all), you are certain to see a familiar face and quite a few faces you'd like to be more familiar with.

Don't go to "g" expecting anything remotely resembling a dance floor. There are two seating areas [one toward the entrance and another tucked away in the back before the restrooms]. The bartenders are always gorgeous, and the music is generally very good (uptempo hard lounge with a dj stashed in a closet near the rear seating area). Be prepared for it to be swamped with a age diverse assortment of men in early evening until closing, but be sure to visit especially during one of their man theme nights, or anytime during NY Pride in June!

Suprisingly modern and good bar. Lot of goodlooking people. A bar we could use in Amsterdam :)
