Club 57 at Providence

GROSS! Never EVER going back. and neither should you.. Went for the first time last night and it was a terrible experience. After paying $15 cover (not worth it), I went to the bar and ordered my first drink ($12 for Jack and coke). I took a few sips just as the strobing club lights happened to catch the cup only to notice something moving in the cup. I turned on the flashlight on my phone and found a ROACH crawling out of my drink and around the edge of the cup. I brught it to the bar, and demanded my money back Which he immediately granted. I went upstairs to demand my cover back, and was told the manager will be right there. I waited ten minutes and after the 4th person called the manager he eventually sauntered down the stairs. I explained the problem and he was less than interested in hearing me. I told him that it is unexceptable and disgusting, and asked him what he is going to do about it. He shrugged, walked over to the register, gave me my money back and walked away without a care in the world. I was less than happy. While this all was happening, two of my friends who had been at the bar since 9pm went out for some fresh air. They were denied readmission to the club because the girl at the desk was too busy talking to stamp them on the way in. She then yelled at them saying that she doesnt mess up and stamps EVERYONE and that they would have to pay again.this bar is dirty and infested with bugs, and the staff is awful. Terrible customer service and will NEVER go back. If you go, be sure to check your drinks for wildlife.

I used to love this place. The last two times I came, it was horrible though. First of all, they don't open when they say they open; the staff act like their you know what smells like rose petals, and they don't actually have the rooms open and drink specials they advertise. Never. Going. Back.

I agree with everthing William has said. We visited from the UK bought our tickets online and were treated abominably from the moment we arrived to the moment we (prematurely) left and returned to our hotel. Not a good clubbing experience, and I've been to gay bars/clubs all over the world. This was the worst.

I used to think Providence 57 was an upscale place. As someone living uptown, I really appreciated having a real dance club a short cab ride from the UES. I now have come to feel disappointed and even angered by the attitude coming from the staff. The guy who takes your $20 at the door doesn't even look at you, say thank you or respond if you say "hello." The drag-queen who stamps your arm is surprisingly rude. If fact, this past week, "she" carelessly stamped my palm without even looking at me or where "she" was stamping. I said, "Please stamp my wrist, I expect to go in and out of the club." "She" proceeded to stamp up my forearm multiple times and make a hand gesture for me to "run-off now, I'm done with you." Combine these two characters with bartenders that serve you when they want to acknowledge you, makes going there a disappointment. It saddens me really that the owners don't seem to value a good customer and allows employees to act the way they do. If you're going to run an upscale club, or any club for that matter, employees need to be trained to interact with respect.
