They charge more but the twinks can't afford it unless they have rich older daddies. The White Party in Miami is one of the most famous and quintessential circuit parties that occur each year. While the White Party itself is a fundraiser held over Thanksgiving Weekend at Villa Vizcaya Museum and Gardens near Miami Beach each year, the entire Miami-Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale area have events at many venues that complete the White Party weekend. Officially, White Party weekend is a week of events but most attendees arrive on Thursday and leave on Monday or Tuesday. You should be prepared to attend many bars and clubs in the area that are crowded due to the official White Party event.

The White Party itself is an invitation/ticket only event that raises money for HIV/AIDS research, treatment and awareness. All of the participants are in white (of course) and have lavish costumes that are the closest thing to Brazil's Carnival. The party ends promptly at midnight (12 a.m.) when the party-goers can dance the night away at Viscaya, private parties, or nearby events around the city.

Miami (downtown) and Miami Beach (South Beach) have other events with amazing and well-known DJs who play the standard circuit music or techno or house music. Nothing particularly cutting edge, but you will see amazing light shows and dancers... And some of the best looking men in the world!

The events can be expensive that weekend. If you are lucky enough to have a ticket to the official White Party, you will see thousands of sexy men in great costumes. If you don't have a ticket, you may spend $20-100USD on door fees to other parties and events in the area. The Pool Party is worth checking out. Hundreds of gorgeous men in speedos can't be wrong!

Hotel rates also increase during this weekend due, in part, because it is an important holiday in the States that weekend.

Men from all over the United States, South/Central America and Europe descend on Miami for the amazing weather, sunny skies, and sexy men. South Beach is world renown for it's flashy but laid back atmosphere, hot bars and clubs, and sexy beaches. These parties are total "see and be seen" affairs with men who have spent the ENTIRE year in the gym showing you the benefit of their effort. Can be a bit intimidating for "regular" guys.

Miami does not have a real subway, so getting around the Miami Beach-Miami-Fort Lauderdale area will require a car rental or be prepared to pay for expensive taxis. Parking is terrible in South Beach or downtown Miami.

Fort Lauderdale (FTL) is about 35 minutes north of Miami but worth a visit for the bars/clubs/gay guesthouses and beach, although none of the FTL clubs/bars compare to the vibrant mega-clubs that still populate Miami. There is a gay and nude beach -- Haulover Beach -- between FTL and Miami that is worth a visit as well ($5USD for parking).
