This Bar is the worst bar down canal street.. if you want a bar where you're guaranteed to get drugs this is you're bar just ask one of the bar staff Managers that you want a few happy pills and there more and happy to supply you..

Appalling, disgusting and illegal behaviors from door staff make it impossible to leave an actual review about the bar. GAY are prejudiced and discriminate against people they perceive as not gay!

We were original refused entry as a larger mixed sex group and as previously mentioned the term 'not regulars' was used. A member of my party who is gay and a regular to the village said this has happened to him on several occasion when he is in mixed company, never when he goes with his partner or all male groups.

We later split up and did meet again in GAY but were subsequently asked to leave due to being overly intoxicated - we had one drink inside the bar!!!! We were approached by a member of staff as i was hugging a female colleague ( i was leaving my job of 5 yrs that night- hence being in a mixed group and the non gay hugs).

The guy that asked us to leave refused to deviate from his obvious scripted responses and give his security details to me. The door staff were as equally rude and obnoxious for no reason other than they have obviously been instructed by GAY management to not allow perceived straight people into the venue or subsequently ask them to leave using the 'step outside for some fresh air' and 'you are a little intoxicated' scripts which they are incapable of deviating from.

The obvious discriminatory policies of GAY are both disgusting and illegal and apart from leaving as many reviews as i can i have raised formal complaint s with the Security Industries Authority, my local council, trading standards and will be writing to my local MP as well and i would urge anyone else that has been on the receiving end of this reverse discrimination to make as many complaints against he company as possible because only if they are prosecuted to the full extent of the law will they start adhering to it!!Appalling, disgusting and illegal behaviors from door staff make it impossible to leave an actual review about the bar. Similar to all the other reviews, on this site and others, I find the club itself to have a bad atmosphere, but worse are the aggressive, unprofessional bouncers, and what many have described as their discriminatory admission policies. Of half a dozen times there since it was Spirit, I've seen gay guys turned away for not being the right kind of camp; women turned away arbitrarily, and have had TWO instances where a full group has got in, until they got to frisking the last guy in the group (in both cases gay, but Asian or Arabic). On those two occasions, the whole groups were then pulled back out. While we can't be certain, lets just say that none of us were in much doubt about the reasons the group happened no to get in those times.

Had a brilliant night in G-A-Y, we had to queue for about 5 minutes, there was a group of 6 of us, we didnt have any problems on the door as we are not skanks! They have a really strict door policy so that it stays nice inside and really friendly ... they bounce loads of skanky people so why bother trying to get it! ... brilliant night out :)

There was a group of 8 of us and when we went to get in at GAY was told it was regulars only despite 2 of our group let in asked to speak to the manager nd he was just as bad as the bouncers when we then challenged him about discrimination nd he said we had attitude problems what a joke needless to say we wont be returning to GAY nd wil make sure I tell people planing to go there

Karen I have sufferred the same fate however I was short changed at the bar and then made to feel that i was being unreasonable! I also never received a response to complaint until I told them I was reporting them for discrimination! Would also never go back saturday night ruined making sure all my friends don't go either!!

will never be back because of the bouncer very rude and unprofessional, ruined are night and unpleased with the lack of response from the manager
