Manchester has the most lively gay scene of the north of the UK. Most of the bars and clubs are located at the Gay Village, where Canal Street is the main drag. Last weekend of August, the city celebrates Manchester Gay Pride which attracts many UK residents and an increasing number of tourists.
Manchester gay guide
Manchester was put on the map by the Queer As Folk series about 4 gay boys wondering around Canal Street. The Gay Strip offers some of the biggest gay bars and clubs in the UK. Best time to go is during Gay Pride (the last weekend of August).
Manchester gay pride
Best time to go is during Manchester Gay Pride, mostly held at the last weekend of August (Friday till Monday). The whole block of the Gay Village where all the gay bars and clubs are is sealed off for 4 days.
Gay Pride in Manchester is 4 days of partying from early afternoon till very late at night. There's a lot to do for everyone: for people liking the bars, for clubbers, for lesbians, bears, leather guys etc. Everything comes together in the Gay Village. It's definitely worth the visit.

An awful "hostel". It´s not even a hostel.
A very terrible noise "Hostel". You can not sleep!!
Very dirty, without elevator, no room service, no reception service, no fire doors, and any other Hostel service.
THIS "Hostel" is just several rooms in a thirth floor of a double DISCO BAR GAY. You are going to be with the noise of machines and 2 DISCO ALL NIGHT!!
If you can... DON'T GO even FREE is a waste of time and MONEY!!!

Very impressed with the facilities, staff welcoming and friendly. All areas appeared clean and well maintained. Pity showers were out of action the day I visited though. Also the bar in the lounge area did not display a menu or prices of any snacks/drinks available, and when I ordered a drink,I was annoyed to find I had to return to my locker to get cash , thought there may have been a tab system with your locker number to settle upon the way out.But enjoyed the experience of the place and will return when I'm in Manchester again
