I'm surprised by some of these reviews as the reputation of this sauna is based on a meeting place for older / younger. So don't complain if it is full of old(er) men, and BTW, one day it will be YOU.
Staff very friendly and place is regularly cleaned, but it could with a refit - retiling, new showers etc.

One of the most worst gay sauna I've been in my life. It is totally dirty and full of old men for everywhere, the staffs are very rude and not a professional massage. They only want to get money and not service. Old guys, no soap, not good dry sauna anyway. Not rocommendable to anybody...

Went to portsea recently. Found it very clean , had a massage which was a great experience , place atracts lots of professional and city guys. Can recommended it

I have been to the Portsea several times and I find it very intimate and friendly. I have never been to one of the larger saunas so I can't make comparisons, and can only give my honest opinion on what I have found.

Most of the action seems to take place in the steamroom with couples pairing off to the private rooms. Sometimes a group of guys will get it on in the steamroom and carry on regardless - that's very erotic to watch or take part in. Likewise in the dimly-lit TV room, some action takes place while watching gay porn on the big screen.

Because of its friendly and intimate atmosphere the Portsea is an ideal place for newcomers. There is no pressure from anyone and you will soon get into the swing of things.

Although the clientele seems to be made up mostly of middle-aged and older guys there is also a sprinkling of younger ones. So anyone who is thinking of visiting a gay sauna for the first time, just come along to the Portsea and you will soon feel at home.

I went to the Portsea recently for my first visit alone. I found it to be quite small and intimate. After changing I made my way to the steamroom and there were about 6 men in there, some of them playing with themselves. Some had discarded their towel and let it all hang out and others were a bit more discreet. The place is perfect for profetionals, I guess the price is ok as if it's cheep that will attract cheep people as well, it's clean and friendly, very cheerful staff and always nice coffe and tea and I apprciate that they never charge for it as well as biscuits, massage was very good experience I tried Russian guy and Egyptian and both were fantastic,

Yes it's small but great location very central , few minutes walk from Marble arch station , I had a fantastic massage which I enjoyed it thoroughly , staff were so friendly , very low attitude , and clean ,good experience I think I met my love of life at Portsea so wish me luck guys , I recommend it

I didn't like the place, I was sitting next to the bar when I saw the cleaner recycling plastic cups, that was unbelievable .
the complimentary coffee is actually dirty water and the place is rally small.

Friendly staff but the rooms aren't clean often enough and the steam room keeps on going cold. I don't recommend this place.

NEVER AGAIN! I was here in this place, I would not recommend it because there are better competitors. The place looked like a dump, also not a comb, a hand dryer, a cream, bath foam, toilet out of order and showers do not work well. I didn't know how to dry my hair and asked for a towel which I was charged £1 for that . RIDICULOUS !! also there are only three rooms and few old people by 7pm is dead. In short, for £14 I would prefer going to pleasuredrom or chariots, I certainly will I enjoy more.
