Afterparty! Expect horrible queueing for getting in and the cloakroom. But once you're in,the 3 rooms will keep you dancing. Average age is around 30.

Beyond Super Pride – 3rd July 2011 (Area, London)

Exiting the Coronet into the crisp sunshine of a Sunday morning, only one thing was on our mind - a visit to the Chapel – yes the chapel bar at Beyond that is - well the number 344 bus goes from bus stop H to Vauxhall station so despite finding out there is now a beyond shuttle bus (for £5 from the Coronet) we enjoyed the sunny carefree delights of the 344. But had a mini refreshment break courtesy of the Park Plaza where one of our friends was staying – what luxury – a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice and a croissant and a chat, before a leisurely 3 minute (three minute) walk to Beyond. At 09.00 this too meant that we had no leg aching queue and were swiftly processed through security and ticket hut into this Super-zied 5 dance floor Area-Barcode super club. Coat check was a breeze and then through into the main room...
The main room was alive, bursting at the seams and we stayed back at the bar area which as this is a complicated room – to navigate – it really needs a walkway bridge along the side to the entrance into the chapel bar as navigating within the room is one hell of a shoving match. Oh don’t they have such a bride/viewing platform at Fire... they should ask to borrow it.

Anyhow we stayed patient and lapped up the mood as the musical maestros that are the Beyond dream team. But those lasers, with the haunting vocal house classics drifting though the C02 mist – it just blows me away every time. They announce the DJ line up at these events (usually) but it’s like the Oscars - not much attention is paid to the lighting expert – please correct me if I’m wrong and it’s not a computer! But computer or skilled human – it’s awesome!

For the first time ever we then took a break and sat outside in the warm sunshine – well on a step under a table – perched like school kids underneath some bigger kids legs and chatted to a friend who had flown in especially for Pride – and was pleased with the weekends delights – and so we were as they kept eyeing us up in the daylight and we’re sure one guy is a DJ in fact – we’ll now we have no News of the World which might have been tapping these B.tches phones – so he and we are both in the clear to continue our clandestine advances.

Popping back in we went through the crowded club and through the Chapel Bar to ‘pray’ our respects and entered the main room though the infamous archway and shoved and shimmied our way to a comfortable spot to once again settle down to enjoy the pumped up turbo charged electrifying atmosphere of house. But with legs and body telling us that we’d now been awake for over 24 hours – then bed was calling and with both of us exhausted we fell into bed-fordshire as easily as we fell for the Wanted and dreamed of our super heroes while cuddling my real hero.

Here’s to more super b.itchin

Beyond soon!

b.itchin at BEYOND SUPERSIZE featuring XLSIOR (29 May 2011) @ Area (London)

Well the journey to Beyond was a little longer than normal, bus 344 goes nicely from outside-ish of the Coronet to Vauxhall but we ended up going to have an Italian first – for him to shower – is this normal Italian behaviour but he did look good in a towel in the kitchen as we sipped orange juice and nibbled on his croissants. And his flatmate joined us to go Beyond and we left the flat munching on a banana for energy. So this was to Beyond Supersize – billed as joining together with Barcode to create a super club of 5 dance areas and a massive smoking terrace I guess. Latino.B.itch was thrilled at CasaLatina with Leandro Kloppel & Douguim - yes DJ Dougim is rather nice eye candy, would mind waking up in the morning between those two – I’m sure we had a dream about him at WE Candy :P

So entering the larger fenced off area outside Area/Barcode we showed our tickets to the man in the little garden shed – and Christmas grotto memories came flooding back and as I came back to reality and turned around, we had lost our two Italian buddies before we had even started. So off into Area and yes we remembered that coat check is in the chapel but oh noooo after squeezing through a jam packed bar, toilet vestibule and chapel bar we are told no, it’s the old coat check by the entrance for bags – jeez, but anyhow the musical soundtrack was good.

And then straight into the main room – fully pumping as this joint had opened at 4.30am or something so the main floor was jammed already. Steve Pitron, Mikey D & Sharp Boys deliver the finest turbocharged house – the lights and music working in perfect harmony sending an electrifying pulse of atmosphere around this topless jungle of beauty. The way those lasers come up through the mists of the dry ice haze is awesome when you looking down from the bar area. Added to this was the tunes coming out track after track of beautiful mixes that mean you can’t go pee as you will miss something spectacular – what a place to be. But when you go pee you can’t get at the urinal because of the guys playing you show me yours and I’ll perv yours! Oh please get a room or a cubicle boys – we were missing crucial boogy time!

Time for a rest – we needed to sit down and take the weight off our Adidas soles so off into the Terrace bar and sit on the high stools so we can admire the view and of course get our abs worshipped – we aren’t still brave enough to enter the Ibiza inspired sun terrace – we’ve got to leave that in Ibiza :P But on returning to the main floor we certainly got an eye full - being positioned right by the centre podium and those male dancers were kinda gorgeous and bulging mmm, another one for our take home Beyond Supersize goodie bag – now there’s an idea isn’t there?

But with five dancefloors this was a place to tire any party animal – it really had an electric atmosphere unlike other so called super clubs – so our b.itchin thumbs up to Beyond SuperSize and yes we guess that one is going to be coming right back at you – just like us after a super sized sleep. Ate Logo or as you guys in Ing-a-land say Ciao

B.ack.B.itchin @ Beyond Black (Afterhours), 27 March @ Area (London)

Fresh from our virgin fetish exploits at HardOn, we were more than ready to embrace Beyond by 04.30 and were so pleased to remove our shackles and leathers and boots and to get into some good old fashioned jeans and trainers to chill out. With a short walk from Hidden we were pleased that that Area was opening extra early. So arriving at 5.00 am after waving goodbye to Latin.Bitch - who descended into the underground on his way to rest before work - I went on to join a friend’s birthday shenanigans.
There was no depressing queue in the sunshine and the smiley security lady joked over the contents of my bag and promising that she wouldn’t to tell my mother  Armed with discount flyers saving £8, I speedily paid £10 and asked where the ever moving cloakroom was – in the church, sorry chapel, so for my sins I entered a packed bar. Wow I had no idea why Beyond had opened early, we’d totally missed that the Black Party was on the night before. So the party was just continuing and hence Beyond was opening extra early.

But who decided a clock room should be in the ‘chapel’ when you have to squeeze through the bursting bar, toilet vestibule area, sweaty 2nd room and the chocka-block chapel bar – jeez we were certainly praying by the time I’d taken out a few heads and feet with my bag. Then trying to get undressed in a mad frenzie as loads trying to leave is a bit chaotic. But I was saved by the cheekiest of grins by the cutest cloakroom boy as we exchange our ritual ‘Bom Dia, tudo bom’. I need to progress that to his phone number but he never gets the chance to serve me yet! There was after all a real reason to be at chapel this early on a Sunday morning!

So with the party already in full swing, the main room was just being reopened again which was superb timing and chance to immediately get out and be seen as the long chain of sexy clubbers streamed from the bar into the main room. So taking the vantage point against the wall, I surveyed the crowd to spot my friends and get googled by the throngs of hot clubbers with pumping house still thrilling the second room or as it is now called the Future House chapel (?).

But it was the main room - with probably Sharp Boys, Mikey D or Paul Heron on the decks that at 6.00am the music was so deliciously mixed – and filled already with a plethora of gorgeous sexy bodies gyrating around me it was hard not to focus on the music and the spectacular light displays. Beyond on these days just manages to encompass that magical clubbing atmosphere. With the light show working perfectly in tandem with the music of pumping, uplifting, vocal house that seems to resonate with the throbbing mass. There was no absence of vantage points and podiums to dance on - which increased the visibility and desire of many to the rampant beats of lust and as it seemed the perfect place for everyone who wanted a piece of me.

The bars were being efficiently served, I even got offered free Lucozade by one clubber as he was leaving the main room’s bar, maybe it was buy one get two free? The toilets as well were being efficiently kept clean and tidy but jeez how did that fella keep his woolly sweater on all night long!

It was impossible to see if the Black Party crowd were still there – as most of the crowd were topless, apart from one peculiar female who was wearing some kind of cute bear furry hat – um, well she seemed to inspire that other regular club reviewer Disco Danny who was having a bit of a mad hatters tea party near the DJ booth – want some samba lessons baby? But we did see a few more harnesses and leather pants than on your usual Sunday at Church. Although the ones who really scare me are the guys who look like mature second hand car sales men or my Dad! – standing around in their M&S zip up jackets – have they really come to the right place?

Walking through to the Sunrise Terrace Bar, you could easily imagine yourself in sun-soaked Ibiza itself - with classic uplifting tunes spinning around the bar with an ever so gorgeous set of glistening pec inspired boys to play with. This is the moment that you know you have had a fabulous night as you soak up the atmosphere of a party in full swing but realise that your tired legs suggest that a little R&R at Charriots might actually be a good idea.

So with less of a fight through to the cloakroom the departure was inevitable. However a beautiful mix of the Tears for Fears track ‘Everybody wants to rule the world’ provided the perfect soundtrack to end another wonderful adventure into the afterhours clubbing phenomena of Beyond – which thankfully rolls on, untainted and please don’t adjust it, as
“All for freedom, and for pleasure, Nothing Ever lasts for ever, Everybody wants to rule the world”.

B.itchin b.ack at you :P
