Tekyön

We had a couple of good nights in Tekyon.
Standard kind of dance music played with Turkish tunes mixed in as well in the main room.
All ages client group so pretty much something for everyone and a nice bit of floor show on the Saturday night.
If you don't like the loud music there is a partially open air area at the back which is good for checking out some hot Turkish men.
Not the most expensive bar prices I paid in Istanbul and and welcoming staff.
A good way to finish off a Friday or Saturday night out

Have been to Tekyon on a friday and saturdaynight in november 2010. I had a great time. Friday was a bit easy, Saturday it was stamped. The bartenders are very friendly, did not feel any bad attitude as is read in reviews of others clubs. There is no entry fee and the wardrobe is only 3 liras. A beer was about 13 liras. Music and audience is mixed. One night they had a travestite, the others they had a Turkish stripper (never saw anything horny like that). Tekyon is not top-trendy. For the Berlinners, the atmosphere reminds me the most of Schwuz and for the Amsterdammers, the Trut. Although the audience is more mixed in ages.

Had fun, certainly will come back.

Good mix of music, mixed crowd with a good attitude. Always had a good time in this bar. Will come back. Address on nighttour is wrong: moved to Siraselviler over a year ago.

Good mixture of Turkish-pop and English music. Very busy on a Saturday night, drinks exp - as they are in any club in Istanbul. Hotpants not allowed - I tried it once and was thrown out! You can take your shirt/top off though as some guys do, it shouldn't be a problem! Negative: the number of old/unnatractive men that rub up to you. gets very hot and too busy. Also not enough action! Many guys are just here to dance with their mates! Enjoyable nevertheless!

Large fab club with free entry. Good mix of music & a happy fun atmosphere - not surprising it's busy! I wanna go back!! All sorts of lovely guys across all ages. Terrace is great for fresh air & chat. A whisky & coke cost 18TL so not cheap tho.

Tek Yon changed its place to Siraselviler street , paralel street of Istiklal street. The place is larger than the old one and has a terrace to take breath when you get bored from that crowd. It is generallt really crowded unbelievably, even no place to move :) generally a mixed profile and scale pf people having fun with mostly turkish music.

Tek Yon's location can be hard to find. From Istikal, go down a street called Balo & on turn left on the last street B4 Balo end and walk 25m to Ekrem Tur where Tek Yon is located. Great club... busy Tues/Wed, dead Thu & PACKED Friday & Sat. - good techno beats, no cover and a very wide range of guys (not a bear club)
