Cruisy at around midnight and on (weekends). As "Just a traveler" wrote, the personnel can be a bit weird (sometimes downright obnoxious, and among Copenhagen locals, stories of bad service at this place have been known for a long time). But at its best, very crowded and plenty of attractive men during late hours. Quite pricey, even by local standards.

Masken Bar
The place is very crowded at weekend nights. Plenty of good-looking men in their 20s and 30s, but not exclusively. Often loud and quite over-refreshed customers. Friendly service, but keep a very close look on your belongings (pickpocketing is common in Copenhagen). By local standards inexpensive. Smoking allowed.
Oscar Bar & Cafe
A popular and nicely furnished café & bar right at the City Hall Square. Good and inexpensive (by Denmark standards) meals, but not cruisy. The level of service is a bit shaky; sometimes excellent sometimes poor, depending on who's behind the counter. Electro/techno music with DJs on Fri & Sat, and no entrance fee.
Men's Bar
Cozy and relaxed for a leather bar, but quite high average age of patrons, except at weekend nights. Smoking allowed and no dress code.
Amigo Sauna
Is the only sauna in town so there is not much option. Went on a Thursday night, quite busy although mainly old guys but there are always a few youngsters as well. Friday night went again and was disappointing... so is like Russian roulette you never know. The place is not great but after reading the last review I was expecting way worst... Please mind that no slippers are provided, walk bare feet is not good.
Amigo Sauna
This large sauna is spread over three floors with a very central location. It could be a great place, provided a complete refurbishment.
However, it is owned by two old men who invest nothing in it. Other, smaller gay saunas in Copenhagen are now closed, so Amigo has a monopoly.
The interior is very dark, black paint all over, and has a lot of private cubicles and small labyrinthic sections with sofas and porn on monitors. Free porn downloaded from the internet, as the URL in the corner of the image will reveal. (Including one room with hetero or bi pussy close-up porn, for reasons I don't understand). The owners really invest nothing. There is no music. Toilets and howering facilities are adequate, there is one wood-covered dry sauna, and a slightly mouldy-smelling steam room.
As a Dane living in Copenhagen I have seen the place becoming gradually more and more run-down. It has never been a very fancy place. The worst is the appearent lack of in-depth cleaning. A slight, but sickening smell of lube, bodily odors and old cigaret smoke has increased over the years.
I go there about once every three years, when I have forgot how bad it is. The entrance fee is 100 kr, but I suggest you go to the movies, to one of Copenhagen's fine museums, or to a bar instead.
If you do want to go, there is said to be a good clientele (many young guests) during weekends, Saturday all day and night, and Sunday afternoon. If you go on weekdays, go before 20:00. During late evenings there will only be 10-20 fat, weird old people, and the occasional closet gays of all ages.
Not only the interior, but also the service policy has something outdated and unprofessional to it. Tea and coffee is priced as low as 5 kr., which means it could essentially have been free. Peculiarly, coffee is free only on Sundays at 12-17 h! An extra towel is 5 kr. They have no alcohol license (or have never cared to apply for one) and sell only a very basic number of soft drinks etc. The ambience at the café area is that of an association room or a municipal institution from the 1980s. When the receptionists change shift, or during their breaks, they will sometimes sit at the sofa in the resting area with their smelly takeaway food.
Some nice encounters can happen, and guests can be playful and nice, so I'll give 2 stars just for the clientele. Although the place itself deserves less.
As an alternative, I suggest going to Frederiksberg swimming hall. Ask for a ticket to the 'luxury section' (luksusafdelingen), only slightly more expensive than a normal ticket. (Not the spa (kurbad) where there will be many families). Not really a cruising place, and sex is definately not allowed, but 80 % of the clientele at the luxury section will be gay or curious, and you'll easily get into talk in the locker room. There is a steam bath, dry sauna, free salt for rubbing yourself, cold basin, and access to the main swimming pool.
The outdoor option is Ørstedsparken, two minutes from the gay nighlife area. Park sex is basically legal if not too many people watch, i.e. during night.
This, and beaches, are described here: www.thegaystation.com/copenhagen/beaches.html
Oscar Bar & Cafe
Large café at a peaceful corner of Copenhagen's busiest square. The outdoor terrace is nice. The interior is modern, but pleasantly designed. Good wine and tea. It's not really a cruising place, but standing at the bar desk you'll easily get into talk with others. As always in Copenhagen, they will be open and interested if you are a tourist - and slightly more uptight if you are a local.
Men's Bar
Small bar with a nice and friendly atmosphere, many guests seem to know each other, and cheap bar prices. The crowd is usually over 30, but some younger men drop by. Even when all other bars seem deserted, on weekday evenings, there will usually always be a cosy atmosphere at Men's Bar.
SLM
This is a members' club, but you can buy one month's guest membership for 125 kr, including entrance for the first night. There is no need to buy a full one-year membership which costs 500 kr. I am not really into leather, SM or darkrooms, but the clientele is nice and relaxed, and the place is large and reasonably clean. I guess it comes in as just above average on an international scale. SLM Oslo is more interesting, Stockholm is said to be good too (but I haven't been there).
Cosy Bar
This is hardly a gay bar any more, but more mixed. During weekends, gays usually still form the majority. But there are a lot of hetero couples or groups, sexually confused young Africans and Middle Eastern guys, etc. The more gay choice is to go to 'Never Mind'.
