Nubbelverbrennung Cologne

Nubbelverbrennung at various locations

Karneval traditionally is ended Tuesday at midnight by burning the Nubbel. This big puppet made of straw is a symbol of the Cologne Karneval, which originally is a very catholic celebration. The Nubbel first takes all the sins being commited the days before in a spooky little ceremony and then is set on fire. Bars like ex-Corner, Chains or Brennerei Weiß have an own Nubbelverbrennung.
