Steamworks

Vies hok, barpersoneel geen oog voor gasten. Ik ga niet meer. Zeker nu op zaterdag er ook ilegale hetero party's worden gehouden.

Pro: Interior looks very nice, has good facilities (albeit cramped rather quickly), friendly staff, good atmosphere and very clean. Attracts a relaxed crowd, most visitors are friendly.

Con: Steamroom gets crowded rather quickly.
Even in weekends it attracts relatively few people (twenty, thirty at most, the sauna has capacity for much, much more) and it can be really quiet and dull, even in the weekends. Also attracts mostly older men, which is too bad, more twinks now and then would be nice (for a 22 yo guy like me ;)). More often than not staff members are more attractive than the crowd (although most men are friendly and always up for a chat or drink). :P

Was there when the lights were on due to some electricity repair.. and the cabines plus the labyrinth do need some reparation & reupholstery! Other than that: still the best in the Netherlands. Wish international tourists would drop by as well.

Went to visit Steamworks for the day, have to say, looks nice, however for the purpose that I came there, sex, it was horrible. Many old men (well many, there were only 15 visitors), probably that almost live in this place... never again! Prefer going back to Thermos in Amsterdam.

Because I live in Amsterdam, I always go to the Theromos. But I was so fed up with the Thermos, that I liked to try Steamworks. I must say, it was a realy day off. The atmosphere was friendly and kind, this sauna is clean, has a good proper swimming pool, has bright spaces -and dark ones. The cabines were bigger and much more comfortable than these dark cabines in the Thermos. The menu was excelent! They actualy have things they have listed on the menu! I will certainly come back.

Excellent interior and facilities, but I do miss a massage service and an extra Turkish steambath (the one on the 1st floor is a bit small). I also long to a slightly mature public, there are too many twinks walking around and not everybody fancies twinks.
