Sunday Rain at Club Rain

Curious how it was last sunday after a short break.... Someone been there?

PFff. sick of this discussion with no end... so... you got your opinion.. I got my opinion.. ready now.

Michael - if you had been at Rain last Sunday, you would have felt the bass - just as it should be: deep and heavy!! ;-)
And we have been in enough clubs in this world to recognise a bad sound system when we hear it - and that includes the Escape in that category!!. In addition, if the Escape cannot provide a suitably experienced sound engineer to help maximise the benefit of the DJ's sound levels for us punters, why are we having to pay EUR 20 to have our hearing damaged??

When the Escape is renovated years ago (5 or something?), they replaced also the soundsystem. So the sound system is not 15 years old. And it is EHV, one of the leading brands.

About the rest: my excuses that I called the soundsystem for at home use :-p I just so miss the fat bass in Rain..... But hey.. it is more a teadance then a big clubparty.. so where are we talking about :)

You are WRONG again Michael... Rain indeed does have one of the top sound systems in Amsterdam...the system is a club system..and fortunately for the Rain..they are not on a limiter...like the Escape! Escapes sound sysem is more then 15 years old..not been updated while Rains system is less then one year an is a system designed and used in mega clubs as well as smaller clubs..!

You can't compare the soundsystem of Escape with the one of Rain. Escape is million times better quality and those speakers are real club-speakers. Rain got something like bigger house-speakers. Although the quality is good of Rain, it is not as good as in Escape.
Only problem is that in the Escape it really depends on who is playing. Probably the club-crew doesn't contain a technical sound-engineer who takes care of the sound-system during the evening. So the settings change from DJ to DJ... I heard the best quality in Escape, but sadly enough also the worst quality.

Oh - forgot to add that the sound system at Rain is EXCELLENT!! A good sound system really helps to make a good night great! Million times better than at that sad place across the square!! ;-)

Though we couldn't stay to the very end (for once!), it was a great way to end the weekend, especially with Dekky spinnning some great trax! Good crowd, decent bar service, improved lighting and thanx for fixing the lights on the steps!!

the crewlounge at ministry was sold out and a nice event especially for aircrew.

The first edition was full... but last sunday was it not really busy.. where was everyone? Too many parties in December? Afraid of a bit of rain? Sinterklaas celebrations?

At least they listened: the lightning was this time not all the time on automatic pilot, but controlled by a lightjockey, there was a bit more light and those 3 dangerous steps were lighted this time.

Vaak wordt het niet op prijs gesteld als er een foto van iemand 'anders' gemaakt wordt, omdat ze dan zelf vinden dat ze te ver heen (van drank of drugs) zijn (of omdat de fotograaf dat vindt). Of stoor je iemand die net lekker bezig met zichzelf, de muziek of met iemand, liever soms even niet in zijn moment.

Ik sluit me aan bij Rollo verder: wil je er op, spring ervoor of hou de fotograaf aan. Deze bijt niet en zal nooit nee zeggen.

Bepaalde mensen staan er vaak op (waaronder ik) omdat er velen zijn die pas op de foto willen als er iemand bij staat, vaak is dat dan iemand van het Nighttours-team. Deze NTers zou je dus vaker op de foto's zien.

Overigens zijn het niet altijd dezelfde mensen op alle foto's, maar kan het ook zijn dat jij foto's kijkt van bepaalde feesten waar dezelfde soort types komen. Als je naar de foto's van een Furball kijkt, zie je totaal andere mensen. En ook op foto's van bijvoorbeeld La Demence zal je totaal andere gezichten zien.

We werken al met meerdere fotografen, dus daar krijg je niet andere mensen mee op de foto. Er zijn nou eenmaal bepaalde mannen die het leuk vinden om op de foto te komen. Het zou niet leuk zijn als we die moesten gaan weigeren omdat ze er al zovaak op zouden staan toch? En natuurlijk proberen we "nieuwe" mensen op de foto te krijgen, maar dan moeten die ook wel beetje spontaan willen. We zijn wel eens op een art launch feest foto's wezen maken waar vervolgens niemand op de foto wilde. Verder stellen we totaal geen eisen, alles mag op de foto: jong, oud, gespierd, stevig, mooi, lelijk, nederlands of allochtoon. Als je de 6000 foto's die op de site staan bekijkt zit alles er ook tussen; maar nogmaals, de groep spieren is inderdaad goed vertegenwoordigd omdat die nou eenmaal zelf graag op de foto willen.

Als er jongens hier zijn die het leuk vinden om ook eens op ander soortige feestjes foto's voor ons te maken houden we ons van harte aanbevolen. We kunnen zelf niet overal tegelijk zijn dus als iemand dat leuk vindt (ook uit Utrecht, Rotterdam, Antwerpen of Brussel natuurlijk) laat het ons weten!

En voor iedereen die op de foto wil: spring voor de camera als je um ziet; we zeggen echt nooit nee.

Altijd weer dezelfde mensen op de foto's. Maakt niet uit of het feesten betreft in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Brussel. Misschien is een andere fotograaf?

een hoop foto's zijn er weer gemaakt, geeft goed de sfeer weer van de avoond, alleen jammer dat er van de hele vriendengroep van 12 man waar we mee waren weer niemand op de foto staat. De cameraman zou iets minder selectief moeten zijn ;-)) het gaat om een weergave van de avond, niet van de, in zijn ogen, lekkere dingen

Very fun evening! Great location. Great sound system. Lighting could definately use some work. Very friendly staff and doormen. Excellent music for Sunday! New and old faces but fun, friendly sexy crowd. €12 with free coat check and free toilets (very cool and clean toilets) and food is a good deal. You obviously don't travel much onno!

I went along from the beloved Backdoor to Sinners to the Supperclub-boat, but feels like it gets less and less. Unfortunately what I found in ‘club’ Rain was an upperclass DARKROOM in Arc-style, still clearly a restaurant. I almost broke my neck a few times on those dangerous stairs, and dancefloor…? That little space with 5 lights in front of the one bar? The music was like the old tea-dances though; relaxed, vocal and very easy going (Madonna! J), nice to wrap up the weekend with. BUT: sorry, 12 EURO ENTRANCE? I don’t think so! This price is so ridiculous! L

Those three steps were indeed very dangerous... Every time again I was kind of falling over it :)

Mmmmm...let's see...crap lighting, no VJ work (not even a flat screen!)....freezing cold upstairs...hard tiled floor....too dark to see where to walk....just a straight bar with the tables and chairs pushed back....dance area smaller than our bedroom....have to struggle through the dance floor to reach the bar...
BUT...
great music...excellent bar staff....friendly door whore...free coat check....super and clean toilets...great music (especially Dekky's last hour!!) ;-)...great party and cruisy crowd and some super bodies...great sound system...great atmosphere...convenient bar next to the dance floor...great music...puts the end back into the week!! Maybe that why we stayed to the end!!
Great to have the Tea Dance back again...roll on the next one!! ;-)
