At the Leidsestraat, Kalverstraat and Nieuwendijk, you'll find all the well known retailers like H & M, Zara and Mexx, so they don't offer a lot of excitement. When you are looking for something really special, go to the Negen Straatjes (Nine Little Streets) between Singel and Prinsengracht. Here you'll find little boutique shops, designer outlets and more surprising stuff.
Do visit De Bijenkorf at the Dam Square. Amsterdams biggest department store. It offers all the brands for decent prices, which a range of products from fashion to CD's to designer furniture.
When you're more of a fashion victim type of guy, and when you think it is all in the name of the brand, go to the PC Hooftstraat. This is where all the people with a thick wallet spend their money and where you can bump into famous Dutch persons. At the PC you can find all the designer brands like Boss, DKNY, Gucci and Prada. This is where you want to be seen.

Mr. B is known throughout the gay world for its famous tee-shirts. The original of this famous leather shop is here in Amsterdam, right in the heart of Warmoesstraat.
Gay shop and information center at the Homomonument, staffed by volunteers. Pink Point started life as a converted ice-cream cart during the Gay Games of 1998 in Amsterdam. It has a wide range of information and flyers from local organisations, as well as one of the best selections of queer souvenirs and gifts in Holland.

This famous gay leather and rubber shop just moved to a new location in the Warmoesstraat.
Tourist always look very suprised in the shop window of The Fabulous Stringslip in such a decent street as Reguliersdwarsstraat. Alls sorts of (very gay) underwear, swimwear and toys can be found here.

Since 1984, Gay & Lesbian bookstore Vrolijk has been one of the biggest and best-known gay/lesbian bookshops in Europe, with 2 floors. They also have a large gay DVD collection. The store is located behind the Queen's Palace on Dam Square.

Drake's is a gay shop and cinema on the Damrak. Looks like a souvenir shop from the outside, but inside ...
