Just a month to go....Matinee again. This party rocks. Always a good good vibe. I like iT. And please...No more negative experience-posts. Matinee got the real vibe. I would say: Come and feel it :-)

I am happy to announce to all visitors of Matinée Amsterdam that club AIR Amsterdam will compensate the visitors on the next party, because of the early closing last saturday

- ALL SECURITY IS FIRED, SO THERE WILL BE NEW DOOR STAFF

Allereerst wil ik de mensen bedanken die de moeite nemen om en compliment te geven over Matinée!
We hebben er allemaal hard aan gewerkt en niemand heeft gevraagd om een vroege sluiting.
Ik heb dan ook voor de volgende Matinée een paar hele positieve dingen te melden, die ik met de AIR geregeld heb:
- 30 juli 3e editie in de AIR
- Alle security is per direct ontslagen en er zal een ander deurbeleid zijn die avond
- Er is een vergunning aangevraagd om van 22.00 - 07.00 open te blijven (vorig jaar zijn die vergunningen ook allemaal goedgekeurd)
- eerste 500 kaarten kosten maar €15,-
- welkomstdrankje tot 0.00 uur bij binnenkomst
- En Vanesa Klein komt weer een geweldig optreden geven

Hiermee hoop ik dat Matinée een 3e kans krijgt om een geweldig feest neer te zetten.
Binnenkort gaat de verkoop van start.
Overal is er duidelijk gecommuniceerd dat het een gemixt feest is en dat zal dat blijven ook, zoals alle wereld tours van Matinée zijn.

Ibiza Party Events

We had a great time and we all know it is a mixed party. So before you go you make sure you understand it is not the same as Rapido or other gay parties. I did not notice at all any weird athmosphere between gay or straights. I was there with straight friends and they loved it. As they did the first time. And most people I spoke had a good time but I think the only people that complain put something on this site. I think Matinee also warned to get in early to avoid the long lines and that is what we did. So got in in 1 minute. And let's face it, the security at Paridiso is also very friendly (NOT).It is a shame they closed early but the party was great. And as you can read, the people who organized it feel bad it happened.

"In Ibiza is het publiek ook gemengd" ..De gays laten in Ibiza Matinee al jaren links liggen. Jong puberaal hetero publiek dat zich volzuipt op de parkeerplaats en dan Amnesia binnen stapt zonder een cent op zak. Fan-tas-tisch feest. NOT!!! Alleen de naam betaal je.

I hope the compensation will be in euros on my account, not a discount on the next Matinee, because for me there will be no next Matinee!!

And to all the people who have complaints, suggestions tips or whatever, please send an email to
info@ibizapartyevents.nl and I will discuss this with Air. So they will compensate the people who came to Matinée.

Ik ben net zo gedupeerd als iedereen, ik heb morgen een afspraak met de clubeigenaren.
Ik begrijp iedereens frustratie en deel dat ook. Ik ga voor iedereen een goede compensatie eisen,
dat is meer dan normaal, dat jullie daar recht op hebben.
Dit had NOOIT mogen gebeuren.
Daardoor heb ik vele acts niet kunnen doen.
Dus hou de site in de gaten
www.ibizapartyevents.nl daar zal ik melden wat de compensatie zal zijn.

In ibiza is het publiek ook gemixd en dat zal het op Matinée Amsterdam ook blijven. Accepteer elkaar dan heb je meer plezier.

Ok, I will rephrase my review of yesterday knowing now that the police actually came to club Air to check the security, and the close-down was actually forced by the police.
In this case I still think the party is not worth more than a mere 2-3 stars. I will explain why.
I stick to my point that the Matinee organization should market its party more specifically gay or straight. Either one of both is fine, but the mix that appeared on saturday just didn't work well.
The line up of music was another point of concern that I didn't mention before. In my opinion, the music was too rough and inspiration-less for the early hours. I would expect much better on a party like Matinee. E.g. Juanjo Martin's Millennium is a nice song, but we know it by now. So come up with something new.
The performances were alright. Nice costumes, but nothing spectacular on the other hand.
Ok the organization invested a lot in lighting, LED-screens and CO2-jets. That was actually very cool.
Matinee will get the benefit of the doubt for now, but we expect to be compensated somehow the next edition. And that shouldn't be too difficult, a significant discount is the least we expect.

Club AIR heeft zijn locatie verhuurd aan Matinee om daar een party te organiseren. Ik neem aan dat ook het personeel in dienst is van AIR en Club AIR ook zorgdraagt voor de veiligheid binnen zijn eigen club. Als ze zich dan niet aan de voorschriften hebben gehouden, dan is het wel even zuur voor Matinee dat die hiervoor moet bloeden en ook de schuldige vinger krijgt die mij niet terecht lijkt. Je vertrouwt op de horeca ondernemer waar je afspraken mee hebt gemaakt. Hierdoor worden initiatieven voor een goed feest door iedereen naar beneden gehaald. En Amsterdam heeft toch al aan nieuwe faam te verwerven.
MATINEE MOET EEN VOLGENDE KANS KRIJGEN: EN NIET GELIJK DAT OUWE WIJVEN GEZEIK ALS HET MIS GAAT. Soms gebeuren dat soort dingen. Het jammer voor de reis en het geld...that's life....

ik vond het feest goed van start gaan, waar ik ook vanuit was gegaan omdat ik denk dat AIR en Matinee een goede combinatie is. De diepe ligging van de vloer geeft juist voor iedereen wat te zien omdat je nooit in " polonaise" loopt zoals dat bij Lademence met de jaarwisseling kan zijn. Ik heb ook niets gemerkt van wrijvingen met straight people, alleen gelachen. De sfeer dan natuurlijk wel iets anders, maar even een andere sfeer kan ook leuk zijn. Matinee IBIZA is ook gemengd dus logisch.
Het was zeker een teleurstelling dat het abrupt was afgelopen en waarom werd niet gelijk duidelijk. Het ergste vond ik dat Elof de Neve niet kon draaien, wat die vindt erg goed.
Tja met zijn drieen 3 x €60,- is wel een beetje een tegenvaller voor een te korte tijd....

Even voor de duidelijkheid het deur personeel is al maanden het zelfde, en dat zouden dan ingehuurde mensen zijn die geen pasje hebben. Sjoerd bedenk een beter verhaal, een club als Air kan dit niet veroorloven. Mocht het zo zijn dan zou wat mij betreft je niet meer director kunnen zijn

Was inderdaad een slecht feest.
Ongelooflijk dat de beveiligers geen pasje kunnen laten zien, maar wel denken ze een gevangenisbewaarder/politieagent zijn. Zo onbeschoft aan de deur!!Maak je gelukkig niet veel meer mee.
Vreemd voor club air dat ze ingehuurd personeel niet eerst checken.

Premature closing of Matinee in AIR


Last night at 03:00 DST, the police paid AIR a visit for an inspection. It quickly became clear that a number of employees of the security company contracted by AIR could not provide their security pass, which is required by law. The police reacted to this by demanding the club to be vacated within 1 hour, despite strong protests and pleas from our side. Just before 04:00 we subsided, turned the music off and asked the visitors to vacate the premises. Considering the party was in full swing, we are grateful everyone calmly heeded our request.


We strongly regret the turn of events and hereby offer our most sincere apologies to everyone in attendance and of course the organization of Matinee, who put on a fantastic party. We will take all appropriate precautions to ensure that this will never again happen in the future.. We are currently conversing with the parties involved to discuss appropriate compensation for any losses suffered due to the premature closing of AIR.

CHRIS YOU ARE RIGHT, ITS A SHAME ASKING A HIGH PRICE AND AT 3 NIGHT GET OUT. The security staff must do there work but I do not get accepted in to a concentration camp
We are costumers and do like to be treated as one.But the organisation from Matinee on tour is only interested in MONEY I hope that the people in Amsterdam will forget Matinee its a rip off.

I am not going anymore to Mtinee;the first one was boring and this one too short (after waiting for 40 min. everyone was thrown out at 3.00!) and too fake. I have to say, Club Air and Matinee did manage to bring back the times of IT, CONGATULATIONS!:high entrance, let guests wait on purpose in line outside, let friends in for free first, put rude staff at the door (they pushed me and put their hands inside my pockets!!), too many straight people and people with an attitude pushing you.. Guys: Rapido and Funhouse are much more fun, leave Matinee to straight people!
