Former legendary April bar has been taken over by the straights.....
The name of the bar refers to Ludwig II (1845 -1886), King of Bavaria. Wikipedia writes evidence "suggest that Ludwig was homosexual and struggled with his orientation throughout his life".
The same applies for the bar. Ludwig Zwei was targeted at gays and women, but it attracts mostly a straight audience....
Trendy bar, friendly staff, but since the recontruction the place has an unpleasant aura. Especially the frontal part is a place where I wouldn't suggest anyone to go. Why? It breaks the basic rules of interior design.Additionally, the owner seems to have no vision who to attract to this place, or at least a wrong one. Please remove this bar from this website. It is not a gay bar. It is straight-owned, straight-operated, and does not have more gay guests than any other straight bar.
hi, You are absolutely free to disagree with our first impression of this new bar. Actually we have been there on the opening night, only before the "guest list only" time slot. We paid 18 euro's for a couple of simple drinks, which we think is quite expensive. Next to that, we think it is a shame that this new bar has positioned itself in such a pretentious way with it's 'beautiful people only' section. Let's hope we're proven wrong and the bar will find a good gay crowd again...

Strange review on Ludwig II! I think it is a great place and I had a great night last Thursday. Drinks expensive?? Everything was free, so what are you talking about? Really negative review, I don't think you even went there! I think we should be happy, that the street is back on track and that there is a divericity of new places!! Ludwig II is for me really a welcome suprice!!
