Habibi Ana is the only Arab / Moroccan gay bar in the world! Small bar in Arabian style, with exotic music and exotic guys. And people who admire these guys...

Hey I am an American who travels to Amsterdam a lot (Great city and people) and have been to HabibiAna numerous times, what a great place. I'ts a little small, but can be fun. I went there on Gay pride and met a real cute Arab boy from the US. I felt a little awkward at first, but it gets friendler than many of the "Hip" bars in Amsterdam.

I really wanted to like this place since I adore Arab guys and lived 2 years in Yemen and 2 in Saudi Arabia, but the doorman was so unfriendly I did not feel welcome. (Sat night 11:30 P.M) He should help first timers feel more at home there. I felt very out of place there, not sure that a non-Arab who did not know anyone there was really welcome.
its not closed but moved to the other end of the street

Unfortunately the bar now is closed.

Great initiative and good place to go. It withstands the stereotypes of both the orthodox muslims and the new xenophobic Dutch nationalists (Wilders, Verdonk, etc.). As a Dutch man I had also lots of fun overthere. So I can recommend everyone who doesn't believe that there are also happy gay people from the islamic world or the Middle East.

Liyana Abboud grows into a young woman, in the wonderful story of Habibi. For her entire life she has lived in the United States of America until she finds out the worst news that may change her life forever.
Liyana is a smart and amusing young lady; she has grown up and lived her life in The United States. Liyana has loved living in the United States for that is where she got her first kiss. To this boy she gave her love forever but that will all change for she has to move back to the Palestinians.
Liyana and her family are forced to move out of the United States. There is also another problem though, she knows very little about her Palestinian heritage and only a small amount of her language.
When Liyana moves into her old country she finds it a little lonely and strange, that is until she meets Omer. In Omer she finds a friend, and maybe even a second love. The sad thing is that she finds out that Omer is Jewish and in the Palestinians their friendship is forbidden.
